Dr. D. performs an examination to determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate and whether imaging, medical evaluation or referral to another healthcare provider is needed. Patients experiencing severe or potentially life-threatening symptoms should seek emergency medical care.
Your first appointment begins with a discussion of how the accident occurred, when your symptoms started, how they affect your daily activities and whether you have experienced similar injuries before.
Dr. D. will perform an examination that may include range-of-motion testing and appropriate orthopedic or neurological assessments. Available medical records and imaging may also be reviewed. If imaging has not already been completed, Dr. D. may order the appropriate imaging studies to help evaluate your injuries. He will explain his findings and recommend a personalized care plan based on your injuries, comfort level and response to treatment.
When appropriate, care may include gentle chiropractic adjustments, soft-tissue techniques, corrective exercises, acupuncture, cupping, Class IV laser therapy, massage or spinal decompression.
