Chiropractic care focuses primarily on musculoskeletal problems involving the spine, joints, muscles and related nerves. Depending on the examination findings, chiropractic adjustments and complementary therapies may be considered for patients experiencing:
• Acute or chronic lower-back pain
• Neck pain and stiffness
• Headaches associated with neck tension or joint dysfunction
• Sciatica or pain traveling into an arm or leg
• Whiplash and other automobile-accident injuries
• Sports and repetitive-use injuries
• Muscle strains and joint sprains
• Restricted joint movement and reduced mobility
• Shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee or ankle discomfort
• Posture-related muscle and joint discomfort
Not every condition requires an adjustment. Dr. D reviews each patient’s health history, symptoms and examination findings to determine which techniques are appropriate. Treatment may also include stretching, soft-tissue therapies, exercise, acupuncture, cupping, laser therapy or spinal decompression when indicated.
Therapeutic massage offers a multitude of benefits spanning physical, mental, and emotional health improvements. Here are some key advantages:
Reduction of Stress and Anxiety: Massage therapy has been shown to lower cortisol levels in the body while increasing levels of neurotransmitters that help reduce depression.
Pain Relief: It is effective in managing chronic pain, including conditions like arthritis, sciatica, muscle spasms, and fibromyalgia, by improving blood circulation, reducing inflammation, and promoting muscle relaxation.
Improved Circulation: The pressure created by massage therapy moves blood through congested areas, which not only improves blood flow but also encourages the flow of lymph, which carries waste products away from muscles and internal organs, thereby lowering blood pressure and improving overall body function.
Enhanced Immune System Function: Regular massages have been found to increase the activity level of the body’s natural “killer T cells,” which helps the body fight off viruses and other pathogens.
Flexibility and Range of Motion Improvement: By working on muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments, and joints, massage can improve your flexibility and range of motion, keeping your joints more fluid and making them less injury-prone.
Better Sleep: Massage can improve sleep quality by promoting relaxation and reducing stress. It can be particularly beneficial for those suffering from insomnia or other sleep disorders.
Mood Booster: By reducing stress levels and providing a sense of physical and emotional relaxation, massage therapy can also help to improve mood and combat depression.
Support for Athletes: Athletes can benefit from massage therapy as it can help reduce muscle tension, increase range of motion, improve exercise performance, and prevent injuries.
Relief from Headaches: For those who suffer from migraines or tension headaches, massage can help decrease the frequency and severity of these by relaxing muscle spasms and trigger points.
Enhanced Skin Condition: The increased circulation can also benefit the skin by encouraging the renewal of cells and removing toxins, potentially improving skin condition and tone.
Detoxification: Massage helps to stimulate the lymphatic system, which is responsible for expelling waste products from the body. This can lead to improved immune system functioning and energy levels.
Choose the membership plan that best fits your needs, select your preferred massage therapist and schedule your appointment online.
Memberships require an initial six-month commitment and continue month-to-month afterward. Unused credits roll over while the membership remains in good standing. A $40 early-cancellation fee applies if the membership is canceled before the initial six-month period ends, and our 24-hour appointment-cancellation policy applies. Two-massage plans may be shared with one additional person.
Please contact our office if you need help selecting a plan or scheduling.
We accept many major insurance plans, including Medicare when applicable. We also participate in the VA Community Care program when authorized and applicable. In addition, we work with workers’ compensation claims and third-party liens for qualifying automobile-accident cases. Coverage, authorization and benefits vary by plan, program and service and must be verified.
Please call us at 480-214-4970. Our staff will explain how to provide your insurance information securely. Auto-accident patients should have their claim number, adjuster’s name and telephone number, and attorney information available when applicable.
Cupping therapy uses specialized cups to create suction on the skin. At The Healing Joint, cupping may be incorporated into a personalized treatment plan to help relax tight muscles and complement other forms of care.
Cupping commonly leaves temporary circular marks or discoloration, and mild soreness or skin irritation may occur. Because cupping is not appropriate for everyone, we review your health history and explain what to expect before treatment. Far-infrared heat lamps may also be used when appropriate to provide warmth and support relaxation.

Class IV laser therapy uses targeted therapeutic light delivered through a high-powered medical laser. It may be incorporated into a personalized treatment plan to help manage musculoskeletal discomfort and support the recovery process.
Laser therapy may be considered as part of care for:
• Muscle strains and ligament sprains
• Sports and repetitive-use injuries
• Tendon-related discomfort
• Neck and lower-back pain
• Shoulder, elbow, hip and knee discomfort
• Muscle tightness and soreness
Treatment is noninvasive, and patients often experience a gentle warming sensation. Protective eyewear is required. Because laser therapy is not appropriate for every patient or condition, Dr. D reviews your health history and symptoms before recommending it.
Nonsurgical spinal decompression uses a motorized traction table to gently stretch and relax the spine in controlled cycles. It may be considered for certain patients experiencing:
• Bulging or herniated discs
• Degenerative disc-related discomfort
• Sciatica or pain that travels into an arm or leg
• Disc-related neck or lower-back pain
• Certain types of spinal joint or nerve irritation
• Persistent neck or lower-back stiffness and discomfort
Before recommending spinal decompression, Dr. D performs an examination and reviews your health history and any relevant imaging. Treatment is tailored to the individual, results vary, and spinal decompression is not appropriate for every condition.
Reiki is a complementary wellness practice in which the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the body. Some people choose Reiki to support relaxation and an overall sense of well-being.
The Healing Joint offers Reiki sessions with Bella Taylor as an optional complementary service. Reiki does not diagnose or treat medical conditions and should not replace care from a qualified healthcare professional.
Active Release Technique (ART) is a hands-on soft-tissue method that combines targeted pressure with guided movement. Dr. D uses the technique to assess and address restricted movement involving muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and certain nerve-related tissues.
ART may be considered for patients experiencing:
• Muscle strains, tightness or restricted movement
• Sports and repetitive-use injuries
• Neck and lower-back muscle discomfort
• Shoulder tightness or limited range of motion
• Tennis elbow or golfer’s elbow symptoms
• Wrist, hand and forearm overuse symptoms
• Hip-flexor, hamstring or calf tightness
• Knee and lower-leg overuse discomfort
• Plantar fasciitis and other soft-tissue foot discomfort
• Work-related muscle and joint stress
During treatment, Dr. D applies focused pressure while guiding the affected area through specific movements. Treatment is selected according to the patient’s examination findings, comfort level and individual needs. Results vary, and ART may be combined with chiropractic care, stretching, exercise or other appropriate therapies.

I have been coming to Doctor D for about a year and a half. The attention I get, the care, the other treatments they offer, there is no place like The Healing Joint. I have even recommended people here, and it has helped them on their emergency visits like No Other. What more can I say before its too much of a post? I will continue coming here because of how satisfied I’m with the service and results.

I recently visited The Healing Joint for Microblading by Sarvi. When I originally went in I was nervous because I have a fair complexion and blonde eyebrows, however, I’ve known Sarvi for quite some time and have a lot of trust in her. She has done makeup for myself and friends multiple times and we have always come out looking flawless. I knew if anyone could microblade my face without it looking horrendous, it would be Sarvi. She has such talent and a great eye. She chooses the perfect shade for your face so that it looks natural while accentuating your face. She has such a kind spirit and is very easy to talk to and has always provided great quality and amazing customer service. I also absolutely love my eyebrows. I cannot recommend Sarvi enough!! Thank you!!
