Personalized Chiropractic Care With Dr. D.

How Chiropractic Care Can Help

Chiropractic care is a hands-on approach to restoring joint movement, reducing muscle tension, and helping the body move and function more comfortably. At The Healing Joint, Dr. Rambod Derakhshani—“Dr. D.”—has practiced chiropractic since 2003.

Dr. D. uses gentle, controlled adjustment techniques and avoids unnecessary force, with the goal of minimizing post-treatment soreness or symptom flare-ups. He understands that every patient responds differently. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience, he carefully monitors each patient’s response and adjusts the treatment plan as care progresses.

When appropriate, chiropractic adjustments may be combined with acupuncture, Class IV laser therapy, spinal decompression, cupping, soft-tissue techniques, and corrective exercises. This personalized approach can address joint restrictions, muscle tension, nerve irritation, and movement problems from multiple angles.

Patients commonly seek care for back and neck pain, headaches, sciatica, joint stiffness, muscle and tendon injuries, and numbness or tingling that may be related to nerve irritation. Treatment recommendations and individual results vary.

Eligible veterans may receive chiropractic care through VA Community Care at The Healing Joint. We have proudly treated veterans through the program since 2016. When authorized, care may also include acupuncture, Class IV laser therapy, therapeutic exercise, myofascial release, or spinal decompression. Learn more about VA Community Care.

Frequently Asked Questions About Chiropractic Care

What conditions do chiropractors treat?

Patients commonly visit The Healing Joint for back and neck pain, headaches, sciatica and sciatica-like symptoms, joint stiffness, muscle and tendon injuries, and numbness or tingling that may be related to nerve irritation. Dr. D evaluates each patient individually and recommends care based on the examination findings.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Dr. D reviews your health history and examination findings before recommending treatment. Techniques are selected and adjusted to your individual needs, comfort level, and clinical findings.

What happens at the first visit?

Your first visit includes a consultation and examination so Dr. D can understand your symptoms, health history, movement, and areas of concern. When clinically appropriate, treatment may begin at the first visit and a personalized care plan will be discussed.

Do you accept VA Community Care?

Yes. The Healing Joint has treated veterans through VA Community Care since 2016. VA-covered care requires the appropriate VA referral and authorization. Veterans who do not yet have authorization may also schedule an examination using self-pay or their regular health insurance, subject to insurance acceptance and plan benefits. When clinically appropriate, Dr. D can submit a Request for Service (RFS) to the VA with supporting examination findings and treatment recommendations for review.

Do you accept health insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans. To have us check your chiropractic benefits, contact our office and send clear pictures of the front and back of your insurance card along with your date of birth using the method provided by our team. Insurance coverage and benefits vary by plan.

Do you accept third-party liens for car accident injuries?

Yes. We can work with third-party liens for qualifying car accident injury cases. Contact our office at 480-214-4970 so our team can review your situation and any documentation needed before treatment.

Do I need X-rays before chiropractic treatment?

Not every patient needs X-rays. Dr. D determines whether imaging is appropriate based on your history, examination findings, symptoms, and any relevant prior imaging.

Active Release Technique for Soft-Tissue Injuries

Dr. D. incorporates Active Release Technique (ART), a hands-on soft-tissue approach that combines targeted pressure with guided movement. ART is used to assess and address restricted movement involving muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and certain nerve-related tissues.

ART may be considered for:

• Muscle strains and persistent tightness
• Sports and repetitive-use injuries
• Neck and lower-back muscle discomfort
• Shoulder tightness or limited movement
• Tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow symptoms
• Wrist, hand and forearm overuse symptoms
• Hip-flexor, hamstring and calf tightness
• Plantar fasciitis and other soft-tissue foot discomfort

Active Release Technique may be used alongside chiropractic adjustments, stretching, corrective exercises and other appropriate therapies. Treatment is tailored to each patient’s examination findings, comfort level and individual goals.
